About This Project

At 10:00 am on September 11th, 2026 in Veterans Memorial Park, a commemoration was held at the Operation Freedom Memorial on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our country.  This event also served to remind us of the subsequent sacrifices made First Responders, and by service members who served in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to keep our nation safe.  Master of Ceremonies John Offerman spoke about making sure that our younger generations know and remember the significance of the 9-11 attacks, as well as the courage and sacrifices made by those who responded to them.

The American Legion Post 4 Honor Guard presented the colors and also provided the rifle salute.  Bugler Don Hansen played the National Anthem, Amazing Grace and closed the ceremony by sounding Taps.
