About This Project

The Korean Armistice Agreement brought to an end over three years of tremendous fighting against communist expansionism and tyranny on the Korean Peninsula. On July 27, 2021 at 0830 hours, the Park bell was rung and WVMP honored the the 23,600 Americans who were killed in action and the more than 103,000 who were wounded in the Korean War. The event included an invocation, a brief summary of the Korean Conflict by WVMP Vice Chairman “Doc” Halsey and the playing of “Taps” on the trumpet by John Noonan.
