About This Project

On March 5th, 2024 as part of their Wichita visit, 10 crew members of the USS Wichita (LCS-13) toured Veterans’ Memorial Park.  Because there was limited time, the “tour” focused on the Navy-related memorials — the US Naval Hospital Corpsmen Memorial, the US Merchant Marine Memorial, the US Navy Armed Guard Memorial, the US Navy Submarine Service Memorial / USS Dorado Memorial and finally the USS Wichita (CV-45) Memorial.  The crew was escorted to and from the Park by the American Legion Riders.  Following the visit to Veterans Memorial Park, the USS Wichita crew members were treated to dinner at American Legion Post 4.   (Photos are courtesy of Mike Nash.)
