About This Project

On September 11th, 2024, a commemoration of 9-11 and the subsequent Global War on Terror was held at Wichita’s Veterans Memorial Park.  The event was held at the Operation Freedom Memorial and featured a 3-volley rifle salute by the American Legion Post 4 Honor Guard.  Bugler Don Hansen started the ceremony by playing the National Anthem and concluded with the sounding of Taps.  The Master of Ceremonies provided a few remarks on the significance of the day and the Chaplain offered the Invocation.  (Photos courtesy of Mike Nash)
