About This Project

On July 4th, 2025, the Veterans Memorial Park Board – Wichita hosted an Independence Day Commemoration on the occasion of the USA’s 249th birthday.  A small but appreciative crowd heard guest speaker John Caviale (former US Marine and OIF/OEF Veteran) highlight his experiences in becoming and serving this country as a Marine.  He noted the sacrifices made by those who serve and what makes the service worthwhile.  The Colors were presented by the McConnell AFB (22nd ARW) Honor Guard.  The National Anthem, Amazing Grace and Taps were played by buglers John Noonan and Don Hansen.  The Marine Corps League provided the rifle detail that fired a 3-volley salute.
