About This Project

A short ceremony was held at the Park at 8:00 am on Dec 7th, 2023 to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of this milestone event.  Certainly this surprise attack more than any other single event brought the United States into World War II.  The Japanese had awakened a sleeping giant and filled it with a terrible resolve, to paraphrase Japanese Admiral Yamamoto.  The loss of life was staggering and compounded with the loss of numerous ships and aircraft it was a significant blow to the United States.  We must never forget.
