About This Project

“This armistice signed on July 27, 1953, formally ended the war in Korea. North and South Korea remain separate and occupy almost the same territory they had when the war began. The Korean War, which began on June 25, 1950, when the North Koreans invaded South Korea, officially ended on July 27, 1953.”

NOTE: In honor of those who served and those who died in this war, on June 25th of this year, the 70th anniversary of the Korean War’s beginning, some anonymous patriot lined the walkway to the Korean War Memorial with small American flags. The WVMP Board wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to the person or persons who so honored these veterans.
