About This Project

On April 29th, 2023, Vietnam Veterans were honored at a commemoration ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Wichita’s Veterans Memorial Park.  COL Robert Hester, Director of Wichita’s JROTC Program, was the featured speaker.  COL Hester is a Vietnam Veteran and has worn the US Army uniform for over 50 years.  The American Legion Post 4 Honor Guard performed the rifle salute, and buglers John Noonan and Don Hansen played the National Anthem and Taps.  This year was the 50th anniversary of the date the last US combat troops departed Vietnam.
